About us

Stabo Scandinavian Imports was established in 1972 in Fargo, North Dakota. The name of the store “Stabo” came from the Norwegian word “stabbur” which means storehouse. In 1988 Stabo expanded when a second location was opened in Bismarck, North Dakota. The Bismarck location closed in 2018 to focus on the new downtown location in Fargo.

Stabo specializes in selling gift items imported from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. Most of the merchandise is made in one of these countries or has a distinctive Scandinavian style to it. The selection of items includes glassware, jewelry, sweaters, woodcarvings, novelties, linens, rosemaling, candy, chocolate, food, books and many other unique gift items.
